Monday June 12 at 6pm at 300 West 3rd Street, at Oxnard City Hall. Urge Oxnard to declare Safe City Status and stand with immigrants.

CALENDAR HIGHLIGHTS

Next weekend is Juneteeth at Plaza Park Downtown Oxnard. The Juneteenth Celebration commemorates the freeing of the final 250,000 slaves in Texas. The 3rd Annual Mess-O-Greens Culture and Wellness Celebration will be at Juneteenth. It will feature the “Mess O’ Greens Cook-off Contest”, food demonstrations, guest speakers, health and fitness experts.

Mark your calendar for a wonderful Mixteco/Indígena Community Organizing Project (MICOP) celebration  “nuestras estrellas” on August 5, 2017. The program this year will highlight “nuestras estrellas” (our stars), and will feature indigenous leaders, a keynote by Oxnard Mayor Pro Tem Carmen Ramirez and will culminate awarding of annual scholarships for indigenous students pursuing college education. We will finish the night with the Dance of the Diablitos! Solidarity Ventura County publicizes critical information on actions, events, and group meetings.  It is a progressive grassroots tool to complement local direct action. Our organization will facilitate communication and connection between activists, interested community members, and local organizations; and will become an informed and mobilized county-wide base, ready to stand by our community.
