Community Roots Garden is a one acre garden at the North Oxnard United Methodist Church. We are dedicated to growing a community of gardens that build food security and empower our community. Our garden volunteers share land, labor, and harvest with one another and those in need. We offer hands-on gardening experience, workshops, resources, tours, and service opportunities to volunteers, community groups, youth, and those starting gardens in their own neighborhoods. SB54 Rally

Assemblywoman Jaqui Irwin represents the largest immigrant community in Ventura County, but is not yet supporting SB54.  The California Values Act would make us the nation's first sanctuary state, banning immigrant enforcement at public schools, hospitals, libraries, and courthouses, and drawing a line between our local police and federal immigration agents.  Contact Raul Lopez at Raul@causenow.org or 805-490-3797. 1st Thursday DCVC Mixer is the first Thursday of every month. The mixer is a perfect opportunity to mix and mingle in our community while promoting ourselves, individual organizations, and businesses. Every month DCVC picks a charitable cause. This month proceeds from our suggested donation and fantastic raffle will go to a future Cultural Competency Training by HOPE Counseling Center, Inc. Camarillo Democrats Meeting

Rally for Gun Violence Prevention

The Ventura County Brady Campaign and Indivisible: Conejo's Gun Violence Prevention team are co-sponsoring this rally to honor victims of gun violence. Wear orange, and bring a sign! (Why orange? It's the color hunters wear to avoid being shot accidentally.) The rally will be held across the street from the Westlake Promenade, on the northeast corner of Westlake Blvd. and Thousand Oaks Blvd. Park at the Promenade, Ralphs, or Bed, Bath & Beyond.

Interfaith Tree Planting

Bring your gloves, shovels, hammers, post hammers, water bottles and hats! We will be breaking trees out of wooden boxes, planting in pre-dug holes, installing stabilizer poles, and strapping trees to poles.

The first Sunday of every month offers free admission at both the Museum of Ventura County (in Ventura) and the Agriculture Museum (in Santa Paula). In addition to gallery exhibitions, look for additional activities for the entire family. Activities may include arts and crafts or live performances that relate to our current exhibits. Veterans for Peace Ventura County, Monthly Meeting

Veterans for Peace is an educational and humanitarian non-profit organization dedicated to the abolishment of war.  The Ventura County Chapter (VCVFP, chapter 112) was founded in August 2004. Chapter 112 has as a primary project the formidable educational task of introducing and disclosing military alternatives to local area high school youth. The chapter proudly funds annual high school scholarships to participating seniors.
