Oxnard Ride of Silence and Memorial
May 16 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Join us on May 16th for the Annual Ride of Silence in Oxnard.
Meet at 6 pm and roll out at 7 pm. This is a slow paced family ride that loops backs to the start.
The ride will go through Port Hueneme and Oxnard starting at Our Saviers Church parking lot at 905 Redwood St. in Oxnard between M Street and J Street.
We invite everyone to ride with us to honor the memory of our loved ones killed or injured by motorists.
These include Anthony Martinez Jr. and Channel Islands Bicycle Club Members Walt Hayes, Matthew O’Neil and Jim Dillingham.
We want to raise awareness among citizens and elected officials that PEOPLE have the right to safer roadways.
If you have any questions please contact Anthony;
Hosted by Channel Islands Bicycle Club – CIBC
News article about this ride
In the three years since Anthony Martinez Sr. buried his 6-year-old son, he has found a voice for his grief in silence.
The Oxnard man leads a silent memorial bicycle ride each year in young Anthony’s honor, an event that drew close to 75 riders Wednesday evening. The boy was killed on Thanksgiving morning in 2011 while riding his bicycle close to home.
