Show up Tuesday to support farmworkers

By: | Tags: | Comments: 0

Our friends from CAUSE have a special announcement Dear CAUSE friends, Over the past year, local farmworker advocates have been in constructive dialogue with agriculture industry leaders to find common ground around how to improve working conditions for farmworkers. CAUSE and MICOP and key industry leaders reached an agreement to support a $200k Ventura County Farmworker Resource Program, which would help farmworkers learn about their legal protections, resolve issues with their employers, and navigate public agencies. Ventura County Supervisors Steve Bennett and John Zaragoza are now proposing this program to be […]

This is Natalie Cherot writing the Ventura Peace & Justice Network newsletter this week. We haven’t sent a newsletter in a while so here is an update of who we are, and what we do. VENTURA COUNTY PEACE & JUSTICE NETWORK BACKGROUND The Ventura County Peace and Justice Network was born in September of 2014, when members of several organizations agreed on how great it would be if the progressive community in Ventura County could network better. Festivals page!

By: | Tags: | Comments: 0

I’m excited to announce the addition of a Festivals page to the VCPJN website! As far as I know, it’s the most comprehensive listing of Ventura County festivals, fairs, and celebrations on the web. Hope you enjoy! In other news, a lot is going on around the county to support Bernie Sanders’ campaign for presidency. He’s far from ideal, but hands-down the best candidate in a main-stream party that I can remember. If nothing else, I hope everyone takes a little time out of their day to vote for him […]
